Especially products sold by prestigious Companies like Arm & Hammer. Yes, the same Company who sells an excellent product that we place in our refrigerators to combat unpleasant odors.
The pine cat litter that Arm & Hammer is selling on Amazon is extremely toxic to our precious cats!
WITHIN THE FIRST THREE DAYS OF USING ARM & HAMMER PINE LITTER PELLETS! My cat began violently sneezing and shaking her head every five minutes! Luckily, I had visited You Tube a few days earlier looking for alternate methods to set up different kitty litter systems. I saw a video, that was made by a person who was looking for a way to save money on the kitty litter they were buying.
They were able to find a 40 lb bag of Pine Kitty Litter Pellets for $ 5.98 at a chain store. The only problem was that her ‘due diligence’ uncovered the fact that the dust coming from the Pine Litter was highly toxic to cats. She tried the Pine Litter anyway, making sure that she strained all of the dust out of the bag the Pine Litter came in. Then she began using the Pine Cat Litter. She noticed after a few days that her cat began to sneeze!
She also noticed that when her cat urinated on the Pine Litter Pellets, it dissolved into a wet pile of tiny pieces of Pine Litter. When the tiny pieces dried, they turned into Pine Dust!
She immediately disposed of the Pine Litter into the garbage.
If I hadn’t viewed this video, I would have never guessed the reason my cat was getting sick was because of the dust that the Pine Litter created! Within a few days of my changing back to a different pellet Kitty Litter, my cat stopped sneezing and was healthy again! If I hadn’t viewed that video, my cat could be very sick or dead by now!
WHO IS TO BLAME FOR THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ERROR!
Before I accused anyone for allowing this product to be sold on Amazon, I wanted to investigate how this error might occur, and how this product could have passed through the Quality Controls of both Arm & Hammer and Amazon.
When I poured the Pine Kitty Litter Pellets into my litter box, I don’t remember seeing any dust in the litter box. I tried pouring some more Pine Litter Pellets in an empty litter box. At first, I didn’t see any dust. But upon closer inspection, when I separated the
Litter Pellets, under the pellets was about one third of the volume of Pine Litter was pure dust! I didn’t see this pine dust as I was pouring the pine litter into the empty litter box. The bigger Pine Pellets we’re blocking the pine dust from being seen!
I questioned whether ARM & HAMMER was aware of the pine dust but didn’t know it was toxic? Or perhaps when ARM & HAMMER shipped the PINE KITTY LITTER PELLETS, there was no dust. The occurred during shipping of the product when their truck hit bumps on the highway? Or perhaps, there was no pine dust when the product was delivered to Amazon. That the dust actually occurred when the PINE KITTY LITTER PELLETS was stored, picked, and delivered by Amazon to the consumer? I don’t know!
What I do know is, A PRODUCT AS DANGEROUS AS PINE KITTY LITTER PELLETS, should not be sold by Amazon or any other Company! It is an extremely toxic product when it is not handled properly. Plus, there are no warnings on the bad as to the level of the toxicity to the consumers animals.
Amazon: I hope that you will do your best to correct this terrible situation and take the necessary steps to immediately remove this product from you offerings. Also you must somehow make the consumers who already purchased this product aware of the potentially dangerous health problems that could result, or may have already resulted because Pine Cat Litter Pellets was used as cat litter! Also, it is only fair to warn consumers who are still using your Pine Litter Pellets that they should stop using this product immediately, before their cat gets sick! Good luck with your actions to remedy this dilemma!
