Meet Shandra Banutu-Gomez

Shandra Banutu-Gomez is a dynamic, warm and supportive trainer with experience in diverse medical and public health settings. Equipped with excellent presentation and communication skills, Shandra has an extraordinary ability to connect with people, tune in to their needs and concerns and inspire them to enhance their skills for the sake of their customers and their own job satisfaction.
Currently a Principal in the Banutu Consulting Firm, an Associate of Leebov Golde Group and Adjunct Faculty at Camden County College, Shandra served previously as Training and Technical Assistance Specialist for the Health Federation of Philadelphia. In that capacity, Shandra established, coordinated and delivered organization development and training services to the Philadelphia Department of Public Health’s Ambulatory Health Systems and specifically to eight large community health clinics and community-based staff in general health, maternal/child health, cultural diversity, organizational development, and customer service.
Shandra has also served as a certified HIV/AIDS instructor for the American Red Cross, Community Outreach Specialist for the Bethany Hospital and the University of Illinois Outreach Program.
As a consultant, her clients have included St. Mary Medical Center, Hispanic Family Center, Family Services Association, Dedham Medical Associates, and Auburn Hospital in Massachusetts.
Shandra is also VP and Professor at Banutu Business College in Gambia, West Africa and Co-Founder and President of I HEAR U, a non-for-profit organization that provides programs that enhance the health and education of the Gambian People.
Education:
Shandra has a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Chicago State University.
